Tracking Resource

The art of tracking has been around for centuries.  From the beginning of mankind, early trackers would track animals for food.  Today tracking is still used by hunters, but more importantly, tracking is used by Search and Rescue teams around the world.

Tracking involves being aware of clues and recognizing subtle signs.  Being able to detect the smallest change in the environment can tell the skilled tracker that someone has passed through the area.

For professional searchers, tracking is an invaluable tool.  A skilled tracker can provide critical information about the subject’s direction of travel.  Without this information, searchers may have to fan out in many directions when looking for a missing person.

If the direction of travel is known, searchers can focus their efforts and increase the chances of finding the subject more quickly.
