
The Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Resource


The Mission of the Urban Search and Rescue Resource is to provide response-ready urban search and rescue (USAR) resources and special training for SAR Team members.
Our specialized training skill set includes, but is not limited to:
- Low and High Angle Rope Rescue
- Breaching / Shoring
- Ladder systems
- Lifting heavy Objects
You must be a SAR Type 2 member in good standing to pursue development within the Technical Rescue resource.
Ideal candidates:
- Possess a high level of interest in this field.
- Are able to work cooperatively within the team framework.
- Have desire to perform roles with specific responsibilities.
- Respond well to instruction.
- Are able to make the majority of scheduled trainings.
We train on the third Saturday of each month. The majority of skill development takes place at these events.
Specialized training opportunities in Rescue Systems 1 and Rigging for Rescue may be offered to select members based on level of skill development, team participation, and class availability each year.
