Our motto "that others may live" sums up the motivation that drives everyone on the team.

However, we can't fulfill our mission without your help.

The Contra Costa Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that provides critical, sometimes life-saving services, at no cost, to the people of Contra Costa County and mutual aid service throughout the state California. All team members undergo hundreds of hours of professional-level training and regular certification to maintain their skills and mission readiness.

  • We are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Members are not compensated in any way for their efforts, yet they spend considerable amounts of their own money for personal equipment to participate on the team.
  • Members of special resource teams (canine, equestrian, bikes) also provide and equip their own dogs, horses, bikes, etc.
  • Vehicles are provided by the Sheriff's Office

The team relies on outside funding for ongoing training (search and rescue procedures, advanced medical training, etc.) and to purchase specialized equipment and replacement supplies (first aid supplies, batteries, perishables, worn-out equipment, etc.).

Donations from individuals and corporations help fund the team's activities. We welcome your support.
