Evidence Search
On October 17, 1999, the search and rescue team assisted investigators with the
Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department by conducting an evidence search in a
remote part of the county.
The search site was located off the side of a narrow winding road, which
necessitated closing one lane of traffic. Here a member
of the Sheriff's Reserve Traffic Safety Unit provides traffic control.
Team members, assisted by members of a metal
detector club, preparing for the search.
Here team members and metal detector club members don helmets and gloves and
tie seat harnesses in preparation for going over the edge. Searchers were
belayed as an extra safety precaution.
